Capitalize on Your Intellectual Assets

Most technology and innovative companies under state and under manage their intangible assets. Amazingly the main focus is on the assets that are not the revenue drivers. Tangible assets have little to do as growth drivers for these companies. It is the good people of the company (human capital) and their innovation which will make the company competitive.

Future Path’s Nucleus and Catalyst combine to provide a complete “easy to use” and “easy to understand” landscape of a company’s intellectual assets, the inventors/contributors,  associated agreements, third party technology, and the relationship to products and services.

Future Path's Revalyst works in support of Intellectual Asset Management in two ways.

First, you can use Revalyst as an expert framework for due diligence around your intellectual asset portfolio. As an example, you could score or rate each of your assets in terms of their importance to competitive differentiation or value to a potential consumer. You can also use Revalyst on a review basis or perhaps on a potential merger or acquisition to evaluate a portfolio of assets in terms of value or synergy, assess agreements and risks.

Second, you can take intellectual assets defined as expertise and use Revalyst to actually capture the expertise and make it available for re-use, now and in the future.

Intellectual Asset Management Suite

Future Path's intellectual asset management suite is appropriate for all science, technology and innovative based companies. Our value proposition is substantial and straight forward. Future Path's solution increases the valuation of corporations through better intangible asset management.

There are three implicit requirements for innovative companies to maximize their valuation and mitigate their downside risk.

Nucleus Logo no border 40 percent.png

The first requirement is to be able to account for and manage the intellectual asset pool, underlying relationships, inventors, contributors, agreements and portfolios.

Nucleus provides this capability which we refer to as IAM AccountingTM. Nucleus is at least as important as any accounting system that you may have for financial purposes. Nucleus is a secure and scalable intellectual asset accounting system, with several significant attributes that make it unique across the entire, competitive, market place.

Catalyst Logo no border 40 percent.png

The second requirement is to create and mentor a corporate culture that is conducive to intellectual asset management. Employees need secure access to the intellectual asset pool where they can exchange ideas and hold private or publich discussions centred around existing or new assets. Awareness and recognition are key drivers to fostering and innovative culture.

The third requirement, is to practice continuous improvement through life cycle risk and opportunity management. We do this with Revalyst, our due diligence product that fulfills the capability referred to as IAM Diligence.

Future Path Revalyst for IAM integrates with Nucleus and Catalyst, to provide you with a highly efficient and consistent method and framework, for evaluating intellectual assets. It is essentially an audit assessment technology, married to a subject matter expertise library, that can either be provided by a third party or self-authored.  It can be used for a variety of business purposes, including; portfolio triage, valuation, marketing assessments, protection assessments, agreement assessments, pooling opportunities, defensive strategies, infringement, philanthropic, build versus license. A number of libraries have been authored that are particularly appropriate for science and technology based companies. Analyst for IT (information technology) and Analyst for HSF (Health, Safety and Facilities) are two such libraries.
